What’s the differences between Alpha-Bismuth Oxide and the Beta-Bismuth Oxide?

Bismuth trioxide, also known as Bismuth (III) oxide, is yellow oxide powder, wihich have α-type and β-type crystal are common sell in the market. Bismuth trioxide has different colors because of different crystal forms. Alpha Bismuth oxide can be heated to become beta Bismuth oxide. After cooling, it turns into Alpha Bismuth oxide. The color changes from light yellow to orange yellow. After cooling, it turns back to light yellow powder. Thus, alpha type Bismuth trioxide is the most stable crystal form.
