Bismuth Vanadate

Bismuth vanadate is the inorganic compound with the formula BiVO4. It is a bright yellow solid. It is widely used as visible light photo-catalyst with a narrow band gap of less than 2.4 eV. More specifically bismuth vanadate is a mixed-metal oxide. Bismuth vanadate is also known under the Colour Index International as C.I. Pigment Yellow 184. It occurs naturally as the rare minerals pucherite, clinobisvanite, and dreyerite. 

Bi2O3 was dissolved in nitric acid to prepare Bi(NO3)3 solution; NaVO3 mixed solution was prepared from NH4VO3, Na5P3O10, Na2MoO4, purified water and NaOH; Bi(NO3)3 solution was added to NH4VO3 mixed solution, Bi(NO3)3 solution After the addition is completed, the initial pH of the reaction solution is adjusted and stirred; after the reaction is completed, the aging treatment is carried out; the BiVO4 precipitate obtained by the reaction is washed, separated, and dried to obtain a dried BiVO4 powder; the dried BiVO4 powder is calcined. To obtain a sintered BiVO4 powder; the sintered BiVO4 powder was ball-milled; and the ball-milled BiVO4 powder was dried to obtain a BiVO4 product.
